Welcome to Untied Community Schools.  It is truly a great place to learn and grow.  United currently serves PK-6th grade students on our campus, while whole grade sharing our 7th-12th grade students with Boone and Ames districts.  We have much to be proud of at United Community, as we are continually one of the highest achieving districts in the state in reading along with continued growth in enrollment.

Many of our families choose to be at United, with over 52% of our students open-enrolling from other districts.  Our average class size of 17 students ensures that our students are getting the individual attention that is needed.  Over the past year we have added 3.5 new classroom sections due to growth alone and have seen a 10% increase during the current year.

Students in grades 2nd-6th each receive a Macbook Air computer to utilize, as technology is a top priority at United.  We have recently added a MakerSpace Room and remodeled our South Library with the assistance of the Iowa State University College of Interior Design.  In addition, new furniture was purchased for all K-6 classrooms to fit the needs of our students and teachers.

We are in the process of a building addition, with a new central entrance and office space being completed by July 2017.  This will allow for one entrance for our building, additional parking for families, and additional space in the building for smaller classes.  This project is being funded completely by PPEL and SAVE funds, with no additional taxes on our residents.

If you are interested in being part of the United family, the open enrollment deadline is always March 1st for the following school year.  Be sure to get your application turned in prior to the deadline.
